How big?...How much?...
- All cakes are priced on labour (baking time and artwork) and raw materials.
- So... asking for a "smaller cake" doesn't mean a half price cake..(sorry!). There may be a slight reduction to reflect less raw materials used, but smaller is often more time consuming to create with the correct level of detail. I still put the same detail on a small cake as a large one, and the same amount of time is taken to create the cake, therefore the charge is the same.
- I need a certain amount of cake with which to work on novelty cakes. Tiered cakes can be sized for guest numbers or visual effect.
- I may amend prices or details stated on this website at any time. Any quotation given by myself to the client will be fixed at the time of confirmed quotation and honoured as such.
Artistic License...
- I may amend an order - structurally or aesthetically - at any time should I have concerns for display stability or anything which would adversely affect the visual appearance of the finished piece.
- If I feel dummy sections/components are required to create the effect of great height with better stability, the client will be informed in advance.
SAFETY WARNING!!
- Please take care when cutting your cake!! I frequently use supports such as dowels or skewers/cocktail sticks in cakes and various non-edible decorative items which need to be removed before consumption.
- I ALWAYS make the venue aware of this on delivery and the client will be advised also.
Damage Liability...
- No liability whatsoever is accepted by OrderTheCake.co.uk Sarah Adams for damage to cakes after delivery and set up at the venue or in transit with a courier.
- If the cake is moved or handled by venue staff following the set-up procedure and is subsequently damaged as a result then the venue is liable.
- Should this occur, I am willing to return to the venue (subject to availability) to repair the damage and the venue will be invoiced for my costs.
- Please make your chosen venue aware of this liability issue as unfortunately, accidents can and do happen!!
Accessory Hire Terms (Cake stands/glass plates/separators)...
- All my glass cake plate stock is approved safety glass.
- A charge is made for the use of my custom-made glass cake plates, stands and separators. This varies according to each item hired.
- Damage deposits may be asked for on certain items which will be refunded on safe undamaged return.
- Any item which is damaged or broken will incur a full replacement/repair charge. Where a damage deposit has been paid, this will be non-refundable and any outstanding balance to cover replacement/repair of the item will be invoiced to the client.
- Where no damage deposit has been paid, the replacement/repair cost in full will be invoiced to the client.
Cancellation Policy- (Applies to all cake orders)...
I have a strict cancellation policy...When a cake is booked, the date has effectively been "sold". Terms are as follows:
- 60-120 Days - Orders cancelled within 60-120 days (inclusive) of the event will be charged at 80% of the full order value minus set-up/delivery charges.
- 0-60 Days - Orders cancelled within 0-60 days (inclusive) of the event will be charged in full, minus set-up/delivery charges.
- Any deposits paid at the time of ordering are non-refundable.
- No refund will be made for any accessory hire fee that forms part of the full order value.
