So what's it going to cost..?

An enormous amount of time is devoted to the development and creation of a specialist novelty cake.  They can be far more demanding and much trickier to decorate than a huge wedding cake.  For this reason, all of our novelty cakes carry a minimum charge.

Deposits for cake orders

A non-refundable deposit of 50% of final value for wedding cakes is required at the time of ordering.

  • Balance payable in full a fortnight before delivery.

For other cakes - full payment is required at the time of ordering.

Novelty cakes

1. Basic Novelty Cake

Any basic shaped cakes (round, square, or rectangular) decorated with simple piping, sugar flowers, 3D sugar models, bas reliefs, or edible pictures on top.

2. Sculpted Novelty Cakes

An awesome, unique  2D or 3D edible sculpture, for example handbag cakes with sugar art adornments or  bottle cakes

                Wedding cakes

As with all our cakes, each wedding cake is totally unique and as such is quoted for accordingly.  Below is a guide to the minimum charges for our wedding cakes.  Factors which vary the cost are:

  1. cake ingredients i.e fruit/sponge/belgian chocolate
  2. the size of each tier
  3. design complexity
  4. unique trimmings - hand made or sourced
  5. cake stand hire/purchase
  6. delivery & set-up charges

Fruit cake - Luxuriously rich. Made to our unique Highland recipe. Matured and soaked with the spirit of your choice

Dummy Cake Tiers

Want to have the drama of a huge cake but don't want to be eating it for the next 6 months?  Then choose dummy tiers to provide the effect.

The charge per decorated dummy tier is 60% of the cost of a baked cake tier as the decoration materials and labour remain the same whether the cake is real or a dummy.

Anniversary/Christening/one tier cakes

Of course!  It would be a pleasure.  Prices will vary accordingly.

Do you offer cake stand/base hire?

Yes, we do.  A deposit is required prior to hire and is reimbursed upon return.  Don't forget that many venues have their own stock of cake stands, if not - no problem, we will source the appropriate platform for your cake.

Delivery and Set-Up

We aim to make this bit easy for you.  Experience tells us that your special occasion may be somewhat hectic! 

We also have a duty of care to our cakes and how they arrive with you.  Most have intricate designs that need very careful transportation and we are only too pleased to deliver to and set up your cake at your venue free of charge if within a 10 mile radius  and for a nominal charge thereafter.

What ingredients do you use?

Rest assured that only the finest premium quality ingredients make it into our cakes.  Free range eggs; finest grade flour, butter and cream and of course, premium Belgian chocolate to mention but a few...

What choice of sponge flavours do I have?

In a nutshell, anything you desire from pure vanilla/lemon/carrot/orange/espresso/coconut/ to a very serious chocolate...Individual tiers can be created in individual flavours...No problem! Go on... lace it with the tipple of your choice...

And what fillings?

Our own professional French recipe double cream chocolate truffle ganache is sublime....

Truffle Ganache is available in its straight unadulterated form for purists, or with added liqueur - or other alcoholic "perfume" of choice:

  • Champagne
  • Grand Marnier
  • Cointreau
  • Tia Maria
  • Malt Whisky
  • Cognac 
  • Rum
  • Or, add your own choice

Ganache is available in Belgian white, milk or plain chocolate or traditional buttercream with a layer of premium conserve.

The marzipan question...

Love it or hate it - fruit cake wouldn't be quite the same without marzipan.  We use only the finest quality, high almond content neutral couloured marzipan.  Our sponge cakes can also be given the marzipan treatment if you so wish - the thinnest layer beneath premium quality sugarpaste.

Can I use fresh flowers?

Yes - absolutely.  Fresh flowers look amazing on cakes - all we need are the details of your florist in order that we may liaise with them.
